Self Improvement Private Label Rights - Finding The Right Ebooks

Self improvement private label rights eBooks are all over the place on the internet

promising everything from how to make you get rich (selling an eBook can work if it's the right one) to how to spot a lying spouse. The last one counts if you think about how knowing if your spouse is cheating will improve some aspect of your life. But the thing is will any of these work? The popular consensus is "Who cares if it's free?" Nothing is ever free.

Often these free eBooks will compete with books for sale but there is usually the catch of signing up for a list or service. The end result is that you are added to someone else's mailing list. Sign up for a free eBook on how to make a coconut bikini and your spam box might well fill up. Include your mailing address and phone number and who knows what sorts of calls you will be receiving in the future, and it won't even be anything related to swimwear or tasty tropical treats. This sort of irresponsibility on the internet is rampant and slowly being dealt with. The key is to check the site over thoroughly to see what their privacy policy is; having one posted is a must these days.

But these are eBooks written by actual people right? Not necessarily. While some resale rights often give the owner the rights to add their name to the text, it also gives them the right to add one they've made up as well. Sometimes this is cleverly done by using a little known author's name and dropping a letter, like an "s". The results are some semblance of legitimacy. This marketing tactic is on legal shaky ground and not recommended. In fact it's nearly morally abhorrent. If one cannot put their own name to a work (legally) then there is no way anyone else should buy it or download it.

Self improvement eBooks should bear out a little research. While a generic book might have the same effects as any other (any plan is better than none) there should be some research into the authenticity of the source. Eating right, exercising and getting plenty of sleep makes as much sense in eight words as it does in 80 pages. Someone prescribing a specific diet with a specific outcome in mind, such as weight loss or muscle mass gain had better have the literary chops and practical experience to back up. Such experience is seldom free either and common sense says it shouldn't be either.

While there are plenty of legitimate "free" self improvement eBooks on the internet, understanding that there a lot more that are a bit nefarious is a must. For those wishing to market such books one of the main things to remember is that honesty about the source (or at least near honesty) and being able to back up the swagger with a quality product will go much further in helping to establish a returning customer base. The right eBook presented in the right way can do nothing but increase a site's legitimacy thus conversions will take place.
