If your child is big enough, then it is the right time to teach them to defend themselves. This is useful because it is not always possible to stay with your children when they have grown up. The health centers are now equipped with self defense techniques for women. The centers have physical education systems which give education to people according to their needs. This education is very helpful these days as it can prevent rapes and other crimes.
The chances of danger are same for both you and your children so don't simply educate your children with self defense techniques. It is never too late to learn these techniques because all women have equal harm. Start by joining a good health center. If you are not fit, you and your children can get fitness training and spend some more time in learning self defense. Remember that self defense also requires you to be fit. If your body is not flexible enough, you might not be able to move about easily during an attack and stressing your bones too much can cause spasms.
So take measures to lose those extra pounds first. This is for the ease of movement and increase flexibility of the bones. A good self defense class will educate enough to at least escape the possibility of an attack. Due to lack of this education many women are today in the mouth of danger. They have no proper sense of clothing, wearing jewelry or carrying defensive items. Some might consider carrying defensive materials as embarrassing or outdated, but remember that nothing is more precious than your life.
