This is the first of a two-part article that introduces newcomers to the possibility of setting up an Internet business. In the first part, the feasibility of doing so, providing the right training is obtained is assured and a basic explanation of how Internet Marketing works is given. In the second part some guidance is given as to what is and is not needed, after which the importance of knowledge and understanding are emphasised together with the rewards that can be obtained thereby.

It's a feasible possibility

It is quite possible for a motivated, disciplined individual to make a good living from the Internet. It is not something that is likely to happen in under three months though even on a full time basis, but what business is? Profits are slow to start, but they come eventually as momentum is gained and can mount up to amounts that are quite comparable to the full range of earnings that first world employees are accustomed to. I like the fact that after the initial work, they often come in while I sleep! For most embarking on this course, who are dependent upon their current employment for a living, the recommended approach is to begin on a part time basis.

It requires proper training

One needs training, because there is a lot to learn. There are many opportunities to learn and often at very inflated prices, so one also needs to be very careful about choosing where to learn. It is important that you have instructors who will guide you through the theory while giving you opportunity to put your learning into practice.

Beware of the scams

There are also many scams that one needs to be careful of. Providing training on how to set up an Internet business can be a lucrative business for both honest and dishonest operators. It helps a lot if you know someone who is doing this already, from whom you can get personal advice and guidance. Although globally, there are many making a living online, the proportion of the population as a whole is very small at the moment, so you are unlikely to find a suitable person to approach among your friends and colleagues.

How Internet marketing works

One popular type of Internet business is Internet marketing. A great variety of products are available for purchase on the Internet. There is a steadily growing demand for these and one is very easily able to sign up as a commissioned agent to sell these products online. Sales made to customers introduced by you are tracked electronically and you are paid your commission accordingly.
