Typically, you can expect to pay several hundred dollars for the privilege of getting all this done for you. Fumigation can send this cost into the thousands, especially if you have a large house.

Do It Yourself

If I had a mass infestation of rats then I might consider a professional outfit but for a regular population of silverfish, it is totally unnecessary.

Start by getting your house in order as it has clearly become a haven for silverfish. Keep all paper and cardboard out of site, clean up food and drink spills quickly, fill in cracks and fix any peeled back wallpaper. This will cut off their food sources.

Secondly, put down your own traps. You can either use insecticide powder or premade traps. You can even make your own traps easily by getting a glass jar and putting some bait inside it.
