New York, New York truly is a wonderful town
New York, New York truly is a wonderful town. Sprawling for miles and miles, this early colonial settlement has come a long way from its small beginnings as New Amsterdam. A blend of cultures, art, fashion, business, and convenience, New York City is a wonder to behold, but can also be damaging to your budget. One way of taking in the most popular attractions in the city is by purchasing a New York City Pass.
The New York City Pass covers the admission cost of six different sights and can save you as much as $40 per individual (savings based on prices for individual tickets).
1. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island or a Cruise with Circle Line
Gifted to the United States by France, the Lady Liberty stands in New York Harbor, holding her torch to light the way of passage from other lands. This towering symbol of American freedom is dear to the hearts of the country's citizens and remains as a constant reminder of the battles for liberty fought by early citizens of the United States of America.
Famous for being the entry point to the New World for thousands of immigrants who flocked to the U.S. fleeing oppression and/or seeking a better way of life, Ellis Island is now home to the Ellis Island Immigration museum.
An optional replacement to admissions to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are the Circle Line Sight-Seeing Cruises. You can take a 2 hour ride through New York Harbor for a fantastic view of the statue, go for a speed boat ride, or opt for a night-time cruise.
