Firstly, photo means light and voltaic means electricity. Photovoltaic is one of the methods of generating solar energy. In this method, the sun light is converted into renewable energy using semiconductors that follow the photovoltaic effect. The photovoltaic cells require high level of protection from climatic changes and other environmental hazards. Therefore, they are packed in a tight toughed glass sheet. When more electricity is required from a single photovoltaic cell, more cells are attached to it to form a module that is capable of producing the required amount of electric current.
