. In this hot country, solar energy is the only natural source of energy that is found in abundance. This natural source of energy is exploited by the professionals to a maximum extent. The major part of this country is filled by deserts. This article is all about the main utilization of solar energy in Israel.

Solar energy Israel is used for passive solar space heating, production of domestic hot water and photovoltaic rural lightning. It has contributed significantly in all these fields.

Israel is a hot country. Some days in winter are only cold particularly in the highlands of the Negev desert. Therefore, the climate is suitable for the implementation of the passive solar heating. This means designing the houses in such a way that during winter sunshine they can heat themselves and during the summer season they can remain cool. The basic components for a passive solar house in Israel are a well-insulated building envelope, a suitable area of south-facing windows, sufficient thermal mass to smooth out the large temperature swings and provide night storage.

In the colder parts of the country, the solar houses require large window areas but in the warmer parts, proportionately smaller window areas are needed. All the windows of the typical solar houses are designed using exterior blinds such that they can reduce the penetration of the unwanted summer sunshine. Sun-dried adobe bricks were used in the construction of the first passive solar house in Israel. When this house was fully constructed and the result was up to the mark, the key principles of passive solar design were adopted by all the architects all over the country. Thus we can say that solar energy Israel has paved the path for many inventions.
