I was greatly moved by the movie AVATAR. Though which era of future the movie depicts was not clear to me but definitely I would not be alive to live in such era. And so much like me many people were amazed by the story and film. One thing which made me think more was how those pandorians believe in energy given to them by Mother Nature. They respect them, use them and believed have to give back one day. But if I see around me I don"t think my generation believes in giving it back. We are just taking it to use it and never bother what happens to it later.
So what avatar is messaging me is to warn me or giving a thought to brood over. Do we earth people have to take shelter to a different planet someday just because we never bothered for what we consumed. The way we are using Mother Nature resources the day is not far I suppose. So can I say we are living in energy crisis and days are going to be worse than this? May be, but there is never too late to start saving today.
First of all we need to know what energy crisis is?
We thing crisis is always the shortage but the fact is there can be enough around us and we are not utilizing it. Our inability to extract sufficient fuel or producing enough electricity to satisfy our needs is where the main energy crisis land up. In spite of abundant energy around us we are reluctant or are not concentrating on them enough to use them.
A solar panel or heating system with evacuated tube solar collector was once a freak show and people never believed. But you see the day has come when people have realized its importance and have seen results better than before.
Development of solar thermal plants and domestic heating systems with solar evacuated tube panel are the proof that thinking out of the box for saving and utilizing other forms of energy has really paid us.
There are still the options which may look very amazing but would earn same fate as solar energy systems. 95 percent of Iceland population is being provided power by harnessing their volcanoes to produce 4,000 megawatts. It may look a risky project but you are trying to use freaky volcano energy making it our servant instead of letting it work against us.
Installation of heat converters in the ventilation system to harness human body energy is a concept taking it turns now. Let"s see it happens and for that we have to look beyond our limited perceptions and think openly.
