The town of "jasmine" is just one of Chania's titles - and backed by towering white mountains, snowcapped for part of the entire year, and flanked by many of the islands best beaches, this early Venetian strongholdis one of probably the most addictive harbour towns within the med.
It is a stunning hotch-potch of minarets and ottoman balconies and bazaars, greek domes, humming waterside, cafe's and tavernas. alleys filled with stylish boutiques and souvenir shops. if you happen to get lost, merely get someone to point you to the sea and begin again.

Rethymno. Venetian splendour
Rethymno stands out as the 3 rd largest town in Crete it's a really charming and traditional town , visitors to Rethymno are in awe of the rare nature for this town. The turkish and Venetian monuments, the original old houses and neighborhoods, everything indicates to the long history of Rethymno. from many aspectsRethymno is a modern town that gives modern facilities blending together along with the aura of 100's of years ago. take a stroll round the Fortezza and also other Venetian monuments. Visit the excellent Byzantine churches of Maria Magdalini, Agia Barbara, and Agios Fragiskos, the port along with the Mastaba part of the town can be a breath of air from a different era, misplaced some centuries ago.
