Somerset Company Sets Blueprint For ‘Green' Future
A Taunton company is steering its growing business in the 21st century with a blueprint for a greener, community-led future

Property Consortium UK a market-leading property repair service for the insurance industry - has already secured the environmental standard ISO 14001 for its work to protect the environment.
Now it has signed up to Business in the Community (BITC) to build on the existing green processes in place and work towards a sustainable business model that benefits the wider community.
Business in the Community a national responsible business charity whose President is HRH The Prince of Wales is working with Property Consortium UK to implement the policy.
They are providing a framework to support and challenge the business to improve its performance and benefitthe workforce and the wider region through four areas community, environment, workplace and marketplace.
Based in Culmhead Business Park, in the Blagdon Hills, Property Consortium UK is led by Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Hyams, who has built the company from an initial start-up in the 1990s into a multi-million pound concern.
With a combined turnover in excess of 12 million and almost 80 employees, the business is built on an enterprising culture that adapts to meet market demands.
Jeremy said: "For years, great emphasis and considerable investment has been placed on staff development and training, overseen by two full time staff dedicated to managing the training programme within the company.
"That policy - which led us to achieve the Investor in People standard in 2009 continues to set us apart in the industry and has given us a platform for growth.
"Now we need to look forward at how we operate in the future in a way that combines a strategy for growth, whilst maintaining our core, people-focused values and being a responsible business.
"We are developing an action plan with BITC, with opportunities including influencing the use of green' products in repair works carried out by our nationwide contractor network, as well as volunteering and community activities to support the wider area."
