The greatest thing about any Sony product is its consistency

. Most of the electronics produced by Sony consistently ranks high in product testing, consistently outperforms its rivals, consistently provides top-notch performance, and consistently rakes in many accolades and praises. This quality extends greatly to their LCD TV line-up and their BRAVIA series has been highly successful in meeting the stringent consumer demands today. And with new innovations being produced regularly, Sony has been able to pack superb quality and performance even to their models at the base level, shown greatly with the Sony KDL40L4000.

Large screens on flat TVs used to be the specialty of TVs with plasma technology. LCDs then were simply inferior to plasma when it comes to bigger sized screen displays. Prior to the Sony KDL40L4000, Sony relied on their plasma division to ensure that their large screen TVs where a cut above the rest. But because more manufacturers are now concentrating on LCD technology, large screen LCD TVs, from 40 to even 60 inches are able to effectively generate optimal performance and quality never before seen on an LCD TV.

Looking at the image display that the Sony KDL40L4000 provides, it's easy to notice why it's been acknowledged to be the best around. While it may seem a bit pricey as compared to other brands in the same entry level category and screen display size, you get a distinct feature that no other manufacturer can provide, the esteemed Sony quality.

And being a 40 inch widescreen LCD TV, the Sony KDL40L4000 is huge. It's a great addition to any home entertainment system and because it's at the entry level, it won't cost a fortune to have one. Elegantly designed with a glossy black finish, the Sony KDL40L4000 can instantly turn a room around and make it stunningly appealing. It can either be placed on a tabletop using a stand that comes along with the TV, or you can hang it on a wall using a wall bracket. Fantastic to look whether it's turned on or off, this Sony TV is a value product that serves well as an entertainment source and for room aesthetics. Measuring 39 inches, 27 inches, and 10.6 inches in width, height, and depth, the Sony KDL40L4000 is a relatively large and heavy LCD TV, weighing in at 47.4 lbs. It has a solid built that gives a feel that it is very durable and reliable.

It's very difficult to see the difference between the Sony KDL40L4000 and its higher end cousins, especially if you're not a technology expert that scrutinizes every nook and cranny of the LCD TV. While it is true that this Sony TV has differences and is inferior quality wise and feature wise with higher end models in the Sony series of LCD, these are differences that are not important to the common TV viewer and would not diminish the quality Sony has provided to the Sony KDL40L4000.
