It"s amazing to me that the paparazzi of the auto world stalk new car models like the Hollywood paparazzi stalk Brangelina and Octo-mom. Why are we so intent on seeing a glimpse, however brief or incomplete, of a car before it is officially debuted? Does that give us some sense of being insiders and knowing something the rest of the world doesn"t?

Customers of used Mercedes Chicago dealers will appreciate that their local dealer is usually among the first on the block to unveil a new model in the showroom. So even if they can"t get that new-car fix from the spy photos they know it won"t be long before they can check out those new taillights for themselves and sink into leather seats in a made-over interior.

Auto industry spies have been busy trying to ferret out changes and upgrades in the new C-Class wagon. A few things noticed in the photos they managed to snap included a new hood, bumpers and headlights, LED taillights, an upright grille and a shift in the rear fascia.

Could there also be some interior surprises? Most likely, but hard to tell from exterior photos. Some predictions include a sleeker dash but not a total makeover of the interior. Good news on the fuel efficiency front as well. Auto industry sources believe the mileage will increase by a few miles per gallon in this new model.

I"m sure there will be some other surprises as well. It wouldn"t be any fun for either side if Mercedes-Benz revealed too much or we spied out too many details. That"s my take anyway. But then, get upset if I accidentally find out what I"m getting for Christmas "" it ruins all the fun.

Okay is that was probably a bit to emotional for some of you. The point is, the new model is always more than what we hoped for and the 2011 C-Class wagon won"t be an exception.
