Starcraft 2 Terran Vs Protoss Strategy Guide - How to Counter Protoss Guide in SC2

Are you playing as the Terran and want to know how to counter a good Protoss player

? The Protoss is quite effective against the Terran in SC2, so you will need to know some strategies or else you will lose every time against the Protoss.

When matched up against the Zealot, Sentry and Stalker combo, the common Terran tactic of Marine, Marauders and Dropships almost always gets defeated. Instead of focusing on building mass numbers of these units, switch your focus towards a combination of Siege Tanks, Ghosts and Marines.

Build a Supply Depot at 9 supply and Barracks at 11 supply. When your opponent tries to scout, this will lead them to believe that you are going to implement the Marines and Marauder rush. Use Marines to defend against any incoming attacks at all times. At 13 supply, build your Refinery and when you hit 15, build an Orbital Command while using your units to defend the construction.

This tactic requires a lot of gas, so at 16 supply build your second Refinery. Add a Fusion Reactor to the Barracks to increase your training capacity for Marines. Build a Factory instead of another Barrack to build Hellions as well as a Starport. Attach a Tech Lab to both your Factory and Starport to get Siege Tanks and Ravens.

Once you have your Siege Tanks, switch all your attention to these units. Use your Tanks to defend as you begin to expand while using Marines and Hellions to fend off any enemy attacks.

Shift your attention to Ghosts as their EMP ability can drain the shields off Protoss units. Finally build an army of Banshees for both scouting and anti-air. This tactic works very well on land, so always have scouts spying on enemy base to check on what they are building. If they mostly have air units, get more Marines and Vikings ready.
