Physical Fitness

Physical fitness is on the top of the list, if you want to become a gym teacher. For this you have to do regular exercise as you have to set examples for other people. If you are not physically fit, you will not become a good gym teacher.

Education and Training

Education, like any other career, is must for gym teacher. Gym teacher should have a graduate degree from an accredited university with a major in physical education. If you want to start your career from a school then you must be able teach at least two other subjects than physical education. But if your aim is to teach in any local gym, having a two year fitness associate degree is more than enough. Besides having a graduate degree, it is important to join any local colleges which provide necessary gym training. This training will help you learn different fitness techniques and exercises.

Internship

After having your degree and enough training, you are now ready to join any local gym or school as an internee. This is very vital before starting your career as a gym teacher. This internship will help you learn different things and you will definitely gain some experience which is important to get a good job in future. Some gyms or schools may hire you on your successful completion of internship period. The only thing is you need to show commitment and devotion to your work.

Employment

The last step is to find a job. You have a degree; necessary training and a beforehand experience which you have gain through your internship and is now ready to go out in the market to try your luck. It may take some time to find a suitable job for you but never give up and keep trying. You can look for jobs online, daily newspaper ad section or simply apply in some local gyms by throwing your resume there. This career is very productive as you gain more and more experience you can open your own gym.

These are the few requirements which you have to fulfill in order to become a gym teacher. The route to become a gym teacher is very simple and easy, the thing which is important is your commitment and passion to become a gym teacher.
