Here is the step that you need to follow to make a homemade solar panel:

Make the wooden panel out of the plywood. A single panel usually holds a 36 3x6 solar cells wired in a series that will produce 18 volts. Always assure the panel is strong enough and well screwed. Ensure that the panel has the correct measurements. It's better to paint it to protect from the weather.

Prepare your solar cells. Solar cells have a lot of sizes and the most widely used is 3x6. The larger the size, the more electricity it can produce but it can also tend to make a panel a lot bigger and heavier. Now, if you're using 3x6, buy more than 36 pieces. So in case a few cells break, you still have extra pieces to work with.

Solder the solar cells. Start by arranging a line of approximately about 9 solar cells. Then, lay the soldered wire of one solar cell across the solder point of the other cell. Do the same to the remaining solar cells in the line. Next, arrange three more lines of 9 solar cells and repeat the soldering process. After which wire the four lines together, using silicone caulk, glue the solar cells to the panel. Put the caulk only on the center of each solar cell, and not in any other area.

And the last thing that you will do is test the voltage. Check if the panel produces the expected volt. If you have already the expected volts then your solar panel is ready to go. By having a plywood , solar cells, plexiglass and wires you can be able to create your own solar panel.
