Stop Divorce? Is It Really Possible Even When My Spouse Wants One?

ALL relationships are worth the effort of saving

. Regardless of what stage they are in divorce procedures can be stopped. Whether the papers have just been filed or the final paperwork is awaiting signature your divorce is not yet finial and can still be stopped.

However, if you truly do want to stop the divorce and give your relationship another go around it is absolutely necessary to persuade the person wanting the divorce to also give it another go. It is more likely that the divorce procedures will not be continued or restarted by your spouse the earlier they are convinced of giving it another try.

Convincing them is not impossible but may be easier said than done.

If you have been begging them to come back to you, you better stop now for the nagging alone will probably drive them away. You may think that if you do leave them alone they will have little resistance and seem as if it is easier for them to leave you. Most of the time when there is nagging going on, the one who wants the divorce is more convince they want to continue following through with it because they don't want the nagging part to be a part of their life any longer.

Explaining that you would like another chance in a calm, pleasant way, being more mature about it may surprise your spouse and at least give them the time of day to think about it more.

Screaming and carrying on immaturely certainly will only scare them away more quickly. But certainly make sure they know you are hurt and saddened by their decision and that you would like another chance tp prove yourself to them. You might be surprised at their reaction to you being so calm and mature they may give it some more serious thought on the account of you being this way.

If it has not yet come up then suggest some marital counseling to stop divorce. Millions of spouses/couples have benefited from counseling and it could be the very thing that helps save your marriage. Getting your spouse to agree to counseling is a good sign that they may want to stay together IF there is truly a way. This will help give you more time to continue the convincing process before the paper work is finalized.

Make sure to show your spouse some of the reasons why you are together and why they fell in love with you in the first place. During the counseling sessions should be a good time for this. Showing some honest effort that you are willing to work on the problems that are brought up during this session may be just enough to persuade your spouse that saving a relationship is truly worth it. It may even be something to help stop divorce temporarily as well as a permanently.

If your spouse has already thought of, and, or filed for divorce at one time during the relationship, then it will be that more easy for them to go through with it again. Make sure you are aware of how the relationship is proceeding and continue with the counseling if necessary.

If you really do succeed and stop divorce just remember that your spouse may still have it in the back of their mind. It's something like being on probation. Make sure that you demonstrate your maturity in the relationship and apply what is learned in the counseling sessions and you may truly be able to save your marriage. The effort you put in will help you realize that saving a relationship is worth it.
