For most people, friends and colleagues (or class mates) are the strongest forces of influence in our lives. Considering how strongly they influence us, it is very important that we choose whom we hang out with. Never hang out with a person in whose company you are not entirely happy just because you want to be nice to that person. When you do that you are not nice to yourself, and this hurts your self- esteem. Only surround yourself by loving and supportive people with high self-esteem.

Listen to positive music

If you are a person who listens to music a lot, your music becomes brain-washing. Therefore, it is very important that you listen to songs with positive lyrics if you want high self-esteem. Choose songs with lyrics about what a great person you are, that you are beautiful, that you can accomplish anything you want, that you are loved etc. When you do this you surround yourself with high self-esteem.

Choose positive media

Just like it is important to listen to positive music, it is also important to selectively surround yourself by TV programs, magazines, films, radio programs and other media which convey the message that you are great as you are. Unfortunately, much media these days try to tell you that you can only be good enough if you graduate from the right university, eat at the right restaurants, wear the right clothes and date the right kind of people. Censor that kind of media away and only expose yourself to media which makes you feel good enough as you are right now.
