TeamCyclist: Different Types of Bike
But we often fail to consider the type of cycling we want to do
. Cycling may be easy to learn but if you compare it to different fields, you may think otherwise. For example, let us compare cycling to the medical field. Both cycling and the medical field have their own broad concepts but if you try to see profoundly, both can be classified to sub groups. The medical field has different specialties as well as cycling. And to master the different specialties, one should have proper equipments.
TeamCyclist, the most trusted online store for cycling apparel, will enlighten us about the different types of bike.
Here are the different types of bike used in different types of cycling:
Road Bike This bike is considered the lightest type. Because of it being almost weightless, it gives higher speed than the other types. It is made of light frames with narrow, but high pressure tires. This may also be the most uncomfortable type of bike. However, if the rider opts for speed and much responsive cycling, this is the best one to use. Riders who are used to wider tires and an upright position are not recommended to use this bike because of its uncomfortable feel.
Mountain Bike Mountain bikes are the most durable type among the rest. It is designed for more extreme cycling like off-road rides. The strong components make it possible for the rider to pass through any rough ground, curbs, potholes, and buckled pavement. These bikes were built with high performing brakes, wide tires, comfortable seat, and suspension. Unlike road bikes, this type has heavier frames than normal which makes it inappropriate to use for regular, street riding. If you want to use it on the street, it is best to change the tires with slender ones.
Hybrid Bike If you think there would be too much effort to change your tires when cycling in different grounds, you can go with the Hybrid bike. This type is a combination of both the road bike and mountain bike. This bike may not be as powerful as the mountain bike's tires, and may not be as swift as those on the road bike, but if you want to sport both roads and rough surfaces, hybrid is the best. It will keep you as comfortable as you are on a regular chair.
These bikes also have numerous gears and handlebars.
Tour Bike The Tour Bike or Touring Bike is designed to carry heavy loads especially for long trips, thus the name. You can attach multiple baggages to it while you ride since it has multiple mounting points. It has a long wheelbase to give comfort by preventing pedal to luggage conflicts. The wheels used are heavy duty to support many loads.
Trikes Trikes are those with multiple or "three" seats attached. One for the rider and two for additional passengers.
Tandem Bike This type of bike is designed to accommodate two riders. One on the front and the other behind him. The front rider still controls everything; however, the back rider has limited access to braking.
These are the different types of bike. So before you purchase yours, make sure you carefully determine how you are going to use it. You can visit
