The 10 Most Popular Myths Christian Parents Believe

When it comes to a Christian education for your children

, there may be some beliefs that keep you from making that ultimate decision. Before you fall victim to myths, investigate the top ten fully and then decide if a Christian education is right for your family. First of all, there are the two ideas that you either cannot afford Christian school or you are saving money by not sending your children to a private school. The truth is that your priorities should allow for a Christian education for your child, especially if you hope to bring them up with a biblical worldview. With new priorities, both of these myths are immediately debunked. You will see that the financial aspect of schooling becomes a non-issue.

There are several myths that attempt to argue for public education, such as the belief that the public schools have the same goals you do. Without Christ in the schools, the aims cannot possibly be the same. If you believe that the public school will prepare your child for the real world, then you must ask yourself what kind of world you really want your child living in. You may also believe that your child might be a light in the public schools, which is a possibility. However, the Bible teaches that bad company corrupts good morals in 1 Corinthians 15:33. This means that your child will not learn the best way to live life in a public school, however much you want to believe he or she will.

Of course, you may want your child to experience the traditional rites of passage, such as sports, dances, and even dating. You must ask yourself if these are the true rites of passage you want your child experiencing, or if there are more important things to think about. This will help you to see that your child may not, in fact, be receiving the best possible education at a public school, especially if youre not entirely sure what is considered education. Finally, you must realize that the learning environment in the public schools are not ideal for your children, especially when they do not welcome the name of Christ. These previous nine myths add up to the largest one of all, in that parents create the myths to avoid seeking a Christian education for any number of reasons.
