Although there is no ideal implant, these implants are safe in nasal surgery.

In augmentation rhinoplasty, silicone implants are widely used. Typically, the body creates a capsule of scar tissue around all kinds of implants. However, this situation will vanish over time with nasal implants. The L-shape implanted silicone is solid, yet flexible, and has several sizes and shapes. The doctor will choose the most suitable one for each individual.

Every coin has two sides. Likewise, silicone implants also have shortcomings. After the nose is implanted with silicone, certain patients may experience an uncomfortable feeling. This is mainly because the implanted silicone doesn't have the correct size or the implanted silicone is not placed in the right place. Infection may occur even years after implantation.

In a word, augmentation rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery that implants the patient's own cartilage from the ear, nose or rib, or dermal fillers such as silicone to the nose to make the patient look pretty. It increases the height of the nasal bridge and the definition of the tip, reduces the alar base and offers more definition of the bridge on front view. Now, this plastic surgery is becoming more and more popular in the Asian area.
