The Best New Years Eve Washington DC Costume Party Ever!

Last year I went to an amazing New Years Eve Washington DC party. It was a costume party -1970s themed - so it took quite a bit of planning on my part. Since Halloween is my favorite holiday I go all out getting my costume made to perfection. I decided to go with the exaggerated version of a hippie like many other people did, but my costume was the best. I know that because it won first prize in the costume voting.

Granted people were quite drunk by the time they voted, but I didn't care. I won a giant disco ball that hangs from my bedroom ceiling. The party was held by a very prominent D.C. figure, in her huge loft in downtown DC and was invitation only. Everything about the party made the new year's eve washington d.c. perfect.

The food was catered, served buffet styled and tasted absolutely mouth watering. There were two open bars so that there were no long waits in line for drinks. The decorations were beautiful - all black silver and gold. It was the best New Years Eve Washington DC party I have attended in my entire 13 years living in this incredible city.

The table settings had glittered confetti sprinkled on them where people could sit down to eat on real plates with real silverware. No paper plates and plastic forks for this party! There was a great DJ who played an amazing mix of 1970s music and people danced all night to some of the best music artists of the 70s. By the end of the washington d.c. new years eve my feet were killing me so I ended up walking around barefoot. I mean I was a hippie!

The finest champagne had been flowing all night and as the countdown to the New Year started all of the guests watched the goings on in Times Square on an 80 inch flat screen until the ball began to drop. The host had professionals' design a balloon drop and all of these gold, black a silver balloons fell from the ceiling. I don't think I'll ever go to another New Years Eve Washington DC party like this one ever again. That is, unless the host and hostess hold another one next year.
