While Bear Bryant was at the school the team took home 15 championships. That made all the top prospects from around the nation want to play for Alabama. The entire time Bear Bryant coached at U of A they had their choice of prospects.

We know from experience that our best prospects, those that will go on to achieve solid downlines and long-term gains - are enthusiastic and driven to win. And the surest way to attract these people is to demonstrate your expertise.

People want to work with inspirational, successful people.

This has been called several things momentum, start a fire, surge. The terms don't matter so much as what they mean: We want to succeed and we know our best chance is to find an expert in network marketing to do so.


Like no other business, in MLM my success is tied to yours. If I am positioned as an expert, someone who inspires confidence, that is the number one MLM recruiting tool.

Three Steps

The first step in MLM recruiting is to get your own customized web site. If you take a look at my website (and if you reading this, you obviously are), it shows that I am serious about network marketing - this isn't a game for me. Why 'customized'? Because Internet users are savvy enough to spot cut-and-paste sites. They simply don't demonstrate your competence.

The web site is often the first way people will come to know me -- mine appears everywhere: on my business cards, in my signature file (for posts)... hell, If I were to send a space shuttle into space, you can guarantee my URL would be on it!

The second step in MLM recruiting is to practice and perfect your phone skills. For many of us, this seems tough. It isn't.

We aren't talking about mile-a-minute, pushy sales calls. This could work for selling stocks, but what we want, more than anything else, is a relationship built on confidence and trust. Professionalism is key. Someone who is impressed enough with your expertise to agree to a phone call is someone who deserves to be taken seriously.

Here's a starting point if phone skills are completely foreign to you:

* A professional phone call has a purpose. This doesn't mean you can't be friendly, but get to the point and stay focused. If you think about how the conversation will unfold (ahead of time, of course) that will help.

* As much as possible, use specifics - facts and information drive quality conversations.

* Practice. Two programs that make it easy to record yourself are Skype and Call Graph. This is why telemarketers often slip in something like, "This is Ben with AT&T. The purpose of my recorded call today...."

* Stick with it. A good telephone presence comes from doing it. There really isn't any replacement for talking to real people about meaningful things. The good news is that even the worst of us will improve rapidly.


The third step in MLM recruiting is you must have a unique selling position. What can you offer that I can't find elsewhere?

Well, the first thing is yourself and your own expertise. The second is your own time and attention. Beyond this is a unique package developed through your own experiences with MLM (and mentoring).

Remember YOU are the reason that people will join you. So, get to work branding yourself and you will soon be a MLM Recruiting master!
