The Different Types Of Backstage Passes
The life onstage is so glamorous and attractive that it is only natural that they seem to attract the attention of a vast amount of people
. Not only the entertainment they provide but the larger than life persona that they exude on camera is a treat for the audience and they momentarily forget their worries and tensions and sometimes aspire to be like the players on stage and they desire to meet these cast and crew to really feel the real life magic of their living.
This is the reason that hordes of people have always been attracted to the back stage scenario after a successful play or concert and every time they are eager to meet the stars, casts and crew of the stage in their real persona and without the makeup or made up energy that they have to carry onstage.
However, it is entirely a different matter that not all people from the audience can be allowed in the backstage area after the concert or play. Every person does not have the same mentality and that is why they fail in behaving in just the predicted or safe way all the time. Added to the fact that the after show scenario back stage is that of chaos and relief. The tiredness of the show is mingled with the wrap up activities that makes the tired participants pull their weight to make the pack up organised and they crave to be at peace and relief after the energetic performances and adrenaline punch that they have to carry and exhibit on stage. This is definitely not a time to entertain unknown or unnecessarily ignorant audience guests who do not behave with propriety and sometimes mistakenly carry the notion of meeting the same character from onstage and therefore do not have the necessary decorum of behaviour towards the actual man behind the player or showman.
Therefore backstage passes were developed to have a sort of screening process of the guests that are allowed backstage after the show. These passes make sure that the number of guests gets a little determined and therefore controllable. Also, this final act that the players or the artists have to put up with can also cash in on their popularity and that makes it profitable for the show owners. Thus it is an all in all win situations.
There are different varieties of backstage passes that are basically laminated cards that are worn on the belt or around the neck by the person so that it is clearly visible that they are allowed backstage for a certain function or a limited amount of time.
There are temporary backstage passes that are for people who are allowed backstage for a short amount of time and they have to clear away before the show starts.
There are employees" passes that are given to everybody who is even remotely associated with the show and they can sometimes get other fans on sets with the access of this pass. However, these are limited to the employees.
There are VIP passes and sticky passes for the fans and family members which gets them to the after parties and even the dressing rooms of the stars.
