Today sees the first publication of The Office Equipment Index. The Office Equipment Index is a quarterly business to business report which analyses the office equipment industry from an economic perspective. The quarterly report will provide an insight into industries that use office equipment, printers, copiers, document scanners and electronic document management systems.
What is the OEI report
The Office Equipment Index report is a list of statistics gathered at the end of each financial quarter which reflect the general industry and economic status within the office equipment industry.
The report is a group of tables showing the percentage increase and decrease in contracts by industry sector. Very simple in nature, the report is designed to provide a snapshot every quarter, which can then be used as a guide for economists, businesses and anyone else that has interest in either the copier industry or general economics.
The 3rd Quarter 2010 Office Equipment Industry Report - Part I
The first part of The Office Equipment Index (OEI) is the percentage increase in business by industry sector based on 100% orders in the last financial period.

Making sense of the report
The report is split into 3 distinct areas, Part I; Percentage increase by sector, Part II; Percentage decrease by sector and Part III Movement by Sector.
Part I - Percentage Increase by Industry Sector
Part I of the OEI report shows the percentage increase for each industry sector. A total of percentages in Part I of the report equals 100%, therefore each percentage figure for each industry sector is representative of the percentage increase of that industry sector against the total increases across all sectors.
Part II - Percentage Decrease by Industry Sector
Part II of the OEI report shows the percentage decrease for each industry sector. A total of percentages in Part II of the report equals 100%, therefore each percentage figure for each industry sector is representative of the percentage decrease of that industry sector against the total decreases across all sectors.
Part III - Movement by Industry Sector
Part III of the OEI report shows the percentage movement for each industry sector. These figures are not derived from Part I or Part II of the report directly, but are representative of total losses or gains for each industry sector.
