Throughout the UK public transport is the best method to travel from one place or another for people who do not have access to their own transport

. There are buses, coaches, tubes and trains which all require staff to function and operate. Operating seven days a week and almost 365 days a year with various shift times available, the public transport industry is probably the most demanding and popular role to apply for. There are full time and part time roles available, people with families and need to look after children as well as students studying part and full time can apply to these roles.

The transport industry has played a major part in the job market, giving hundreds and thousands of job opportunities to people across the UK and the rest of the world. There are plenty of different roles and jobs to apply for with jobs appearing on recruitment sites, newspapers, within stations and on the companies websites. The salaries of the roles varies depending on the job and responsibilities taken up, even though in recent times there have strikes regarding pay and hours worked, the salaries are still competitive within the job market.

Some of the roles would require the person to work late nights or early morning shifts; with these roles it is essential that the person is flexible towards these shifts.

The public transport industry, especially within the bigger cities plays a fundamental role in allowing people to travel from one place to another. A majority of city workers are choosing public transport over privately own cars because it saves them the hassle of driving through traffic and the convenience it brings. Overall, the job opportunities are endless, with more money being injected to public transport, more buses and trains are being built, resulting in more new jobs available on the market.
