The Rise Of Windows Mobile Smart Phone

, Microsoft Corp. The Operating system giant holds the largest number of share in the operating system market as compared to its rivals. The company also designs operating systems for the mobile phones which are called windows mobile. It is the operating system that can be used in smart phones and mobile phones. After the much awaited launch of Windows Mobile 7 smart phones, it did not receive a good response from the users so the company fished it out from the market. Because of the failing usage, Windows Mobile 7 smart phones faced a severe downfall in popularity after its launch.

The first operating system is known as Pocket PC 2000 and has following features. It has Pocket Office feature for various Microsoft office applications, it has Pocket Outlook Mobile application, consists Windows Media Player, pocket Internet explorer software to browse the internet, USB port, Bluetooth and ability to do multiple tasks. For various hardware devices, there are three types of windows mobile available namely, Windows Mobile professional, Windows mobile standard and Windows mobile classic. Windows Mobile professional is meant for smart phones, Windows mobile standard is meant for phones with normal screen and Windows mobile classic is used in simple phones.

After Pocket 2000, came Pocket 2002 which could be used with smart phones. It was also similar in design to Windows XP operating system. Afterwards Windows Mobile 2003 SE was launched and was last in the category to offer back up options to the users. Then Windows mobile 5 was developed which had several additional features like photo caller ID and increased battery life. It was followed by windows mobile 6 that had three different versions. It was inspired by the Windows Vista operating system for computers.

After windows mobile, Microsoft developed Windows Phone 7, which is installed in the recently released smart phone called Windows Phone HTC HD 7. It is based on a technology called User Interface (UI) and the applications on the home page are arranged in a tile shaped fashion. This arrangement gives the user better access to them. Windows Phone HTC HD 7 is expected to get a very warm welcome from the users due to its new user friendly Windows Phone 7 operating system.
