On February, 24, chip manufacturer Marvell develops a TD-SCDMA smartphone with Asus. It's the first commercial TD-SCDMA single chip phone. The mobile phones suport the latest Ophone mobile system.

It's beneficial to lower the TD mobile cost to use single chip solution. It's the factor to promote the maturity of the market. There are many good cheap mobile phone on the market. They have a greatest feature that they use the single chip. It integrates the mobile functions in the chip. And it makes great achievements on the 2G market.

"We are keeping discussing the possiblity that we have such an integrated chip on TD-SCDMA mobile. It enables the mobile manufacturer to lower the cost. It makes the mobile phone smaller and more powerful. And the price will be more reasonable." Wang said.

Actually, China Mobile required the related manufacturers to conduct the developing a couple of years ago. The deep cooperation with Marvell begins from 2008. In September, 2009, Marvell first launches the solution based on TD-SCDMA single chip.

As the Marvell originator Weili Dai said, "Their demand at that time is how to lower the chip cost." It's just the beginning to cooperate with Asus. In the future, they will launch the single chip smart models with more and more OEM manufacturers.

"The chip cost will be lower in the future." Dai said. The price of the TD smart products can be lower than one thousand yuan can be reality if the cost of LCD screen can be controlled.

As the Marvell launches the commercial products with Asus, the other chip manufacturers also come up with the TD single chip solutions. But there are no official products. As Mobile is conducting the TD terminal gathering bidding, the friendeship expressing of Marvell and Asus can help them to get more orders. China Mobile starts a new gathering purchasing of the middle and high end TD-SCDMA smartphone.

In the gathering project of middle and high end G3 phone, China mobile plans to purchase 12.20 million middle and high end G3 phones. There are about 1.5 million flagship network terminals, 300 thousand dual card dual standby terminals, 3.2 million multimedia smart terminals, four million fashionable terminals and 3.2 million popular intelligent terminals.
