There are tons of things to do in San Diego, and thankfully there are also many places
for dining out in San Diego too! You can get very hungry very quickly with all of the sightseeing and activity, so it is a good thing that there is no lack of food anywhere you go in the city. Whether you are in the mood for fresh gourmet seafood or just a light salad for a snack, throughout the entire area youll never be without some sustanence.
The Gaslamp Quarter is probably the area that most people would think of first for dining out in San Diego. The Gaslamp Quarter gets its name from the old fashioned street gas lamps which lined the streets decades ago. The historic buildings in this area along with the beautiful landscaping takes visitors back in time still today. Although older, the Gaslamp Quarter comes alive at night with the mecca of bars, dance clubs, theaters and sidewalk cafes that are there. Fortunately for visitors who have come to enjoy art San Diego and other attractions, there are many fine accommodations throughout the area in which to stay. From major hotels to bed and breakfasts, the city has a comfy bed for you!
The Horton Plaza shopping center is the place to go for high end shopping, and is an architectural marvel. The multi level mall houses many boutiques, gift shops and stores of all kinds. There are also many fine cafes and restaurants for dining out in San Diego here too, so when you become famished gazing upon all of the sights in San Diego, you can stop for a delicious bite to eat and recharge.
Seaport Village is another popular area for dining out in San Diego; there are also more than 50 specialty shops here, including fine dining waterfront restaurants and a restored antique carousel. Seafood is the big catch here, which people can enjoy while they are enjoying eating at the bays shores. There are also many live music shows that are put on by street art performers, which always brings a unique and exciting aura to the days activities.
We cant mention dining out in San Diego without talking about Little Italy, on the northwest end of downtown. There are fabulous Italian restaurants and eateries here, as well as art galleries, home design stores and many retail shops too. When you are dining out in San Diego, be sure that you visit some of these places to get your fill of some great food!
