, I have always been impressed with those successful internet marketers who have been able to produce so much content and keep track of it all in only a few hours a day. They appear to be able to manage all they do so effortlessly!

Even if you have only been working online for a short while, you will know that there is a large amount of information that we need on a daily basis. I found all these bits of internet marketing information quite overwhelming and soon I began to suffer with information overload. Then I figured out their secret, which of course was right there in front of me. As a former bookkeeper I should have realised it is all about organizing your online business for success. Somehow, because we are working on the internet, we tend to reject all the normal offline systems!

So what then is information overload? This is a debilitating condition that is suffered to a greater, or lesser degree, by new internet marketers who have found out about the exciting opportunities to be had by earning a living using the internet and their home computer. The nature of the internet is such that a new internet marketer is soon overwhelmed by the vast amount of information available. Information overload has the negative effect of overwhelming sufferers to the extent that they are unable to move ahead with their online businesses.

Here is an example of what happened to me. As I surfed the internet for opportunities and signed up for the many offers that can be found, it was not long before my email accounts became full of many items of information all competing for my attention. My computer was overflowing with many downloads of free reports and training courses, audio and video clips. The effect of all this information coming at me was that I was easily distracted by another bit of internet marketing information, and eventually did not know which way to turn or what to do next. I was suffering with information overload.

The next question to address is what can be done about this information overload? There is no need to worry, as you are not alone, and there are tools and systems you can use to get your focus back and start building your dream internet business. The secret to dealing with information overload is to organize your online business. Here are three tips to get you started:

1. Define your goals for your online business and reject any information that does not directly relate to your niche area or target goal. Don't sign up for any new lists if they are not directly related to your niche area. Think seriously about any new purchases you may be planning. Ask yourself if they are really necessary. This should cut down on the amount of information that you will deal with straight away.

2. Organize your online business information in one central place and in folders that will enable you to find any bit of information you need quickly and easily. I use spread sheets to record all my information in one central, easy to find location.

3. Continue to declutter your computer and emails by unsubscribing from lists that you later find don't offer the information you need. Set aside time each day to stay organized so that you maintain that control over your information. Don't sign up for another list or course unless you think you will use the information immediately.

Finally, the important point to remember is this: if you organize your online business you will be able to take control of your information and that debilitating overload condition will be a thing of the past.

Head back to your computer now, don't just receive that internet marketing information and let it clutter up your machine - organize it so that you control it and not the other way round. Organizing internet marketing information into a simple, easy to use system is your secret weapon.
