2.Use the right autoresponder service. Two of most well known autoresponder services online are Aweber and GetResponse. For a nominal recurring fee, you get a user-friendly interface to craft your broadcast messages and to manage your subscribers, and the highest email deliverability rates. If you are serious about your online business, don't settle for free autoresponders in order to cut your costs.
3.Be consistent. Try and make your follow up and broadcast messages relevant. As in, if your subscriber opted in to get information on a certain topic, make sure you follow up with similar information or content. Staying relevant will keep your subscribers interested and will therefore cause more of your emails to be opened and read.
4.Be a human being. One thing that frustrates list members to no end occurs when their attempts to contact the list owner go unanswered. When you respond promptly and courteously to emails, you are making a connection with the other person. If your subscribers start talking with you and as they start learning more about you, they will start to trust you and even respect you.
5.Focus on building a relationship with your list, not just building a list. Size matters, but only to a certain extent. It is possible for some people to make a living off of a list of a couple thousand subscribers whereas there are others who make less money with over ten thousand.
