Top Reasons Why Moving To North America Was One of the Best Things for Our New Office

I know it may sound like excuses but first off

, I have to be honest I didn't like the idea of relocating to an office in the US and didn't see how we were going to be happier in a foreign country.

There was one reason, I was deliriously happy and content with my current home location.

We had an incredible home, the perfect family car and some parts of our life were a lot better and would make some people jealous.

I paused for thought if this would mean I would miss having my family in easy reach of me and visiting them any time that I could fit them in. There were even small things to miss too such as scotch eggs with a pickled onion, the great fish and chips with mushy peas, the barber who I always gave a tip to when I visited and the school teachers that I greeted when picking up my children.

Whilst small things like that were very important, they couldn't be responsible for holding back my career and my family's fortune , especially with the US office market showing some incredible prices, I took it upon myself to move as soon as possible. I then decided I had to make an executive decision and tell the family that there would be no alternative but to move to the US office, to gain true expansion that we would have to move to the US.

I wanted to make the transition as smooth as possible, so I made sure all the moves were in place so we could be in a suburb like we were used to and got the children into a close-knit school that understood that they were moving from a home where they were very comfortable and would need some time to feel happy other children. We had to make some stark choices and they weren't easy but we had to get the children to understand why we were moving.

The move has been and gone and now that it is over with it is easy to forget about the reservations that we first had. I am now going to tell you about my fave things about living in the US.

1) Food here is incredible. Whilst I did say I thought I would miss traditional British dishes, well it has turned out to be one of the best reasons to go to the US. These world famous restaurants I now dine in are just out of this world and cannot compare to the service and food I got in England.

2) The offices are plush. After some consultation and viewings we decided on taking Chicago office space and we are delighted with the result. Important facilities are now under one roof such as modern furniture, a friendly receptionist and a conference room that make it easy to communicate with clients.

3) The people are so friendly. Although we have the advantage of being an English family who are polite but we have found that the people here respond to us so much better than back home, they are much warmer and friendlier. Walk into any store and be treated with respect regardless of whether your are spending big or just browsing.

This is just a few reasons why making our office move to the USA has been wonderful and now our lifestyle is even better.
