Seattle is one of the largest cities in the north west United States

. It sits at the northern tip, providing shipping lanes inland through Puget Sound with the smell of the ocean everywhere. It is a beautiful city of culture, excitement and miles and miles of shoreline. When you are ready to explore north, you need to put Seattle, Washington on your list of places to see during your life time.

Seattle offers some of the best food in the world. From seafood to steaks, you can find just about anything to satisfy your pallet. Choose from ethnic dining to wonderful and a surprisingly filling all veggie diet. Much of the fresh produce used within the city come from small outlying farms and urban farms growing right in the middle of the city.

Visit the Burke Museum of Natural History and view dinosaur bones and fossils of all kinds. The museum also displays many of the Native American Mask of tribes from the surrounding area. They are colorful, frightening and fascinating in their representation of animals. You can learn about the various meanings of the mask as you tour the museum.

The museum has a rich and colorful history of the Asian Cultural that made this city great during the frontier days when it was first beginning to grow. You can view early Asian costumes worn by the early settlers. While touring this great building you will be able to view the plants, birds and other wildlife on display, all native to the north west.

Your next stop can be exciting beyond anything you have ever done, as you climb aboard the 55 foot long MV Sea Lion and view wild orca whales. They offer an unusual beauty of freedom and danger as they glide through the ocean so near you feel like you could reach out and touch one.

After the excitement of the sea, it's time to relax with a trip to Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. With so much wild life from the sea and the land, it takes hours to see everything. They offer everything from tiny little sea horses to penguins and sharks.

The land creatures, like beautiful Peacocks, roam the grounds and the wolves that seem bigger than life. View just about every kind of wild animal you can imagine. Lions and tigers and bears! But when you wear out from the hungry looks in their wild eyes, stop off for a bite at one of several places in the zoo that serve human food.

Check out Pioneer Square when you are ready for a shopping tour. Part of old town, you will find lots of food, fun and every kind of art. Seattle is filled with great artist from across the world. With galleries and shops on every corner, your shopping needs will be filled to over flowing.

Under the sidewalks of Pioneer Square take a tour of the underground city of years gone by. One time a whole city existed under the street with stores, houses of ladies of the night and winding tunnels where the drunk and poor were shanghaied for ships leaving the country and in need of a crew.

Your trip will be one you will never forget and will return to more than once. You cannot see it all on one trip, but each time you visit Seattle it will feel like a whole new place to explore again and again.
