Toyota Sienna Recall 2010 - Reason, Models, Details
The latest news is that Toyota has recalled its Sienna minivans in Canada
. On Friday, April 16 about 6000,000 Toyota Sienna's have been recalled. Toyota recalled the Sienna due to spare tire compartments issue, as they become unsafe to drive.
The part when gets corroded enough, may lead its spare tire to fall out of the car, leading to a disaster for the other drivers. The Toyota Sienna recall will affect the 1998 to 2010 models. The Toyota Sienna 2010 model has not been included in the recall list. Toyota team has been working to fix the problem as soon as possible.
It is reported that about 6 complaints have been received but Toyota said that no injuries have been confirmed yet. The drivers of the affected toyota model should schedule an ispection at a local delearship.
Toyota said that they are recalling the models from regions where where frequent use of road salts are present as it may result in excessive corrosion of the spare tire acrrier assembly.
The use of the affected models can create problems in areas which are cold where road salt is used. Toyota has admitted that they do not have the solution of the problem now but very soon their team would be out with a solution for the issue. Toyota owners will receive a notification which will provide them all the details on how to have their Sienna minivan inspected.
Toyota has recalled over 8.5 million vehicles since November 2009 and have even been fined $16.4 million by the Transportation Department for defective gas pedals.
