Treehouse, Lounge, Melbourne, Australia - Review
Excuse the pun, but I was literally swinging from the trees after the opening night of this little St.Kilda gem
. Having just been bought and re opened by its two new owners, Treehouse Lounge is looking fresh, glamorous and ready to be explored. The name itself indicates you'll find a bit of childhood fun lurking from its depths, and you will. Any venue that has a faux grass area and tire swings on the wall gets my ultimate tick of approval.
Despite its cheeky childhood name, the venue is a playground for grownups, with a cocktail list to blow your socks off and a tapas menu that will leave you asking for a napkin to wipe off the drool you've just left everywhere. Despite both owners long histories working in hospitality, for a first time go, they'll be giving other local venues a real run for their money. It's this prior hospitality experience that makes Treehouse Lounge focus on the details that matter.
The ambience inside is relaxed and playful, plenty of spots to stand or sit and make a friend or two. Despite being in its opening week, Treehouse Lounge has already established itself a following and its crowd is evident. This place is for everyone that's keen on having a bit of fun while drinking. Despite its mature taste in tapas and drinks, fresh faced 18 yr olds will feel just as comfortable here as a late forties couple. Its relaxed vibe means there is no strict dress code, but the venue's nice so show your respects and aim to wear a relatively clean shirt, opt for smart casual just to be safe.
I wasn't joking when I said you may drool at the tapas list, it is off the hook. Mature, elegant and using ingredient combinations that were just meant to be, you'll definitely want to snack on a plate or two whilst exploring the drinks list. Now, I've had my fair share of cocktails in this lifetime and it takes a little to impress me, but the cocktail and drinks list at Treehouse achieved complete impressiveness. The signature cocktail, Killer Lady is as dangerous as it sounds, although the Lychee combinations are just as good. I opted for a mojito which was as delicious as it was fresh. I'd even go so far as to saying one of the best I've ever had.
Open from lunch Tues-Sun
Treehouse Lounge is the perfect
St.Kilda venue to enjoy after work drinks, weekend pre drink or even a cheeky Sunday session. You'll find me playing on the grass.
