Using Led Light To Assist Crew Operating Emergency Vehicles
LED light comes to the rescue of crew who participate in a large number of rescue
, search and other operations in their emergency vehicles. The LEDs have greatly changed the way emergency vehicles are decked up with lights, given that they are efficient, portable and easily repairable too. Most importantly, LEDs are highly energy efficient and can be powered mostly through a simple DC power supply providing 12 to 30 V DC. The currents in the circuit are also extremely low. Still, the circuits are well protected from high voltage spikes, short circuiting and reverse polarity issues, so that the crew on the vehicles isn't in any real danger. LED lights can be used for long hours even in bad weather. This is because they are well encapsulated from moisture and dust. They also don't get overheated, part of the reason why they use such less energy for such high intensity lighting.
LED light is used in many different ways by emergency vehicles. There are the full-length 60 and 72 inch light bars which have a dozen LED modules with ultra-bright 5mm and 10mm LEDs. These light bars come with more than 50 different programmable flash patterns which can be operated with ease through the use of special push button, rotary or slide position, pattern selection switches. Some light bars make use of non-volatile memory to store and retrieve information about the last used flash patterns as well. These light bars can also be miniaturized for smaller cop cars. Mini bars make use of fewer but brighter LED lights and are portable enough to be used across different emergency vehicles in a fleet.
The design of various emergency vehicles has undergone drastic changes to make the most of LED light and the benefits it provides. Modular construction ensures that the LED modules are configured together and individual components can be accessed with ease by removing just a few screws. There are optic spreader filters, Fresnel inner and outer lenses and wide angle domes used with the LED lights to spread the beams more uniformly and achieve greater coverage and reach. It is also ensured that the light is horizontally spread out and at the same time is bright and intense enough to not be scattered or dispersed across an impressively long range.
LED light is also used in various other types of emergency lighting equipment such as LED strobes, which provide bright and intense lighting, compact dash and deck lights, with dual or multi-colored LED modules, grille lights and traffic directional. The ability of several LED lights to be programmed together for timely flashing and the control available over the intensity of the lighting makes LED lights highly versatile. You can have LED lights across the entire range of spectrum allowing you to mix and match different safety colors. The bright controlled flashing of gigantic arrows in traffic colors, appearing out of full length light bar panels is a great example of how multi-purpose emergency vehicle lights can assist in the toughest of situations.
