One type that you can make use of is on your computer. Now you might not think that these programs that are available are that good, but depending on the one that you use you can find that they can provide you with a wealth of information. This information might not be what you are expecting to find, but it is one that you will want to realize that can happen.
The second type that you will find is the ones that involve reenactors. The reenactors are a great source of information on the area that they are in. By being able to talk to them you can find that you will be able to find out little points that never make it into the books. They can also educate you about how certain things were done way back when which can help you learn even more about life previously.
The third way is by watching some of the videos that have a pause point to allow you to make a choice. Now at times you will be able to make the same choice that they historically did, but at others you might weigh in and make different choice than what they did. If you do that then you could see how the choice you made affects history as the experts provide information with what would happen.
Using these can make learning fun. However, you will also want to remember that you are going to have to use your books as well to complement what you are learning. These are a great enhancement tool though that can provide you with multiple lessons that you might not have seen before.
