If you are actively creating content for traffic, I'm just like you. I've excitedly and enthusiastically researched a niche... created the content, and submitted it to directories. I've sat and watched my statistics thereafter... often refreshing the page and hoping... PRAYING and pleading for some sales. Or even some readers. Any activity at all on my articles.

And when it didn't come... when that avalanche of traffic didn't pound down my metaphorical digital door, I wondered what I did wrong.

I've said this before, and this... more than ANYTHING else, is probably responsible for tripling my traffic, on just the article directories themselves. I used to write short, concise, keyword dense titles... because that was what the "gurus" recommended. It was okay... but I certainly wasn't setting any traffic records with my content... and often felt that INFERIOR articles were getting much MORE attention than mine.

I started TESTING long, verbose and "titillating" titles, with power words and often taking up ALL the allowable space in the title line. What happened? Not only did my content start to stand OUT on the directories themselves, I started seeing a lot more search engine traffic... EVEN when my articles were UNDERNEATH other authors. (simply because my titles stood out in the sordid sea of similarity where other marketers swim..:-)

Trick #2: Specificity Sells

The truth? Whatever you CAN quantify, you MUST quantify.

Wherever you can use numbers to demonstrate SPECIFICITY, do it. I can't tell you how many extra visitors this has generated for me... but it's a whole heck of a lot more than 15,764... ;-)

One more BIG tip?

Make your resource box meaningful. Give something away. Be powerful. Be profound... and be PASSIONATE. Don't talk about your good looks, your high school cheerleading awards... or your mission in life. Give people a REAL reason to click through... and they will! I've gone from click through rates of 10% to averaging, in my niches, close to 35 or 40%... and that's the FASTEST way to triple your traffic on the very same work there is... bar none!
