. A student who has a drug addiction will greatly affect not just their grades and their class performance but also their relationship with their friends and family. These pupils should know that their dependency is eventually affecting their lives in general. But there's still hope for them given that they can easily be treated from their addiction by guiding them towards rehabilitation. Here is the truth about drug abuse effects on students.

A Decrease in school efficiency - Students with a drug abuse problem will have a decrease in their overall performance at school. They are in no mood to take part in any school activities, have no interest in participating in class, always wants to be alone and decreasing grades. There are times when a student would skip school altogether and would carry on doing so for a couple of days. During such time they would spend all their money on drugs and alcohol. This type of habit for students will not only affect their education but also their overall health by continuing to abuse such narcotics.

Effects in behavior - Students would often display various kinds of behavior depending on the type of drugs they are hooked on. Others would often display acts of hostility and violence towards their fellow students while some would display a depressive state of mind. Which means the addiction such students are dealing with is beginning to affect their mental performance. Such side effects can cause them to have mixed feelings about even the smallest things therefore causing them to be easily distressed and paranoid. A student with symptoms such as these must immediately have treatment to avoid the long term effects the drugs might cause their psyche.

Affected family members - Not only does drug addiction affect a student's efficiency at school it also affects their particular relationship with their loved ones. Teenagers would distance themselves away from their family and friends. They do not want to mingle with them or bond with them because they're afraid that their friends would judge them about their addiction or their family might find out and become disappointed.
