Ways To Maintain Air Conditioners

Properly maintained, Trane air conditioners will adequately cool your home for years

. With just a little work and effort, yours should be able to sufficiently get you through the hot and sweaty summer months. Tranes are top of the line devices that come equipped with decent warranties but they still should be kept in good condition.

Unplug your air conditioner every now and then and carefully take off its front cover. In most Tranes, the filter is found in the rear next to the coils. Otherwise they will be secured in the front. If it isn't slashed or ripped in any way it'll have to be switched out.

Variously, take the Trane air conditioner's inside filter out and submerge it in a tub or sink full of hot water. Let it sit and then wash it carefully with soap. Rinse out as much of the soapy water as you are able to and set the Trane's filter on the counter and let it air dry for a few hours.

As the Trane's inside filter is air drying, gently clean the rest of the air conditioner off. Using a clean rag, wipe both the front cover and between the coiled springs. Return the now dry filter and place the air conditioner's front cover back on.

Occasionally the device's drainage system will need to be drained and flushed as well. The drain tube is located in the back of the air conditioner and can be easily removed. Run a long brush or wire through to tube to clear out any blockage that may have formed. To clean it further, pour a cup of diluted bleach through the tube as well before reattaching it.

In order to assure that your Trane air conditioners are working at full capacity, you'll need to maintain them regularly. Checking their filters and drainage tube at least twice a year is a good idea. However, if you are experiencing problems with your air conditioning in your home or office, you may have to clean them out more often.

Consider hiring a repairman if you feel that the Trane's maintenance work is too much for you. Replacing the filters periodically in your home is a good idea as these filters play quite a part in your machine's workability. Periodically having an air conditioner professional take a look at your device and regularly clean it out will ensure that it is able to cool your entire house for thousands of summer seasons to come.
