When you begin to design a new website you start off with a blank page
. It is a clean page with absolutely nothing on it. It is up to you to decide what to put on it. You have to make a decision as to what elements and designs that you are going to be integrating onto your page. This can take some time and you want to make sure that you set up a plan so that things can run smoothly.
The first question that you might ask yourself is, "what are the elements that you want to include on your page?" Some of the more common elements can be seen on any regular webpage. Things that they include are headlines, navigation, images, content, and administrative. It is up to you to decide where things should go but you might want to keep it customary just to be safe and as you gain more experience you can do different things.
You have to have a certain goal that you want to reach when you design a web page. What is that page going to get at to the customer? How is this page going to help them with whatever problem that they may have? Goals are important and you want to make sure that you are capable of reaching them.
As many businessmen would say "location" is key. That is true for websites too. The location of where you put things on your page determines a lot. For example if you had a logo for your company and you wanted to put it on your webpage, you wouldn't put it on the bottom of the page. Nobody would see it; therefore you would put it on the top, so when visitors come to the site that is the first thing they see. This goes for ads and any other essentials that you want to put on the page.
Be sure to place focal points of interest in your webpage. This will help in drawing attention from the readers. Nobody likes a boring webpage. They want something that is exciting and will draw interest to them. You can affect how people see things by simply moving things around or having different spacing within a webpage. Let's say for example you want to place an emphasis on a particular picture. You would not want to just center it on the page because that can look boring. What you should rather do is change the margins on the page so that it can heighten the interest on that picture. Peoples' eyes will be more likely to be drawn to it.
