Weekend Beach House Rentals and tranquil Trujillo we wanted more time!

Well we are one step on with our Honduran voyage. We arrived at the beautiful Banana Beach last night from La Ceiba and eager for merely relaxing by the seashore tomorrow, following undertaking the tourist sightseeing in Trujillo this afternoon. We're also flying out the next day, will be several days more before we have a flight into the Guanaja Island, the very first location in the Bay Islands vacation. To be honest now that we're right here my partner and I are both regretting merely making it possible for 2 days in the Trujillo Bay region. Banana Beach, the resort we are staying at is completely gorgeous. We made the decision to go for weekend beach house rentals instead of expensive hotels, to have a little bit of privacy. Having been in hotels for approximately three weeks now, we had merely had sufficient of existing out of a single room and needing to eat at restaurants all the time. In the end, the bar and restaurant at Banana Beach have been so great, we have eaten there every single chance we had at any rate!

Cheap Beach Accommodation

So this morning we both headed out to the actual historical and wonderfully sleepy small town Trujillo. Like several real tourists we went to go see William Walker's gravesite initial at the 'old cemetery'. To be truthful there isn't a huge amount to see apart from the burial plot, but We almost always find it a bit amazing to be in the existence of historical past. In case you aren't aware of the story, William Walker tried to invade Central America on behalf of the U.S before being stopped inside Honduras and put in front of firing squad at Trujillo.

Following that slightly ghoulish excursion we then stopped in at Trujillo's private museum. There is a reasonable collection of pre-Columbian artifacts and some enjoyable memorabilia of Trujillo. Following all the historical excitement we stopped at a wonderful small eatery, on recommendation from Banana Beach called Vino Tinto. Apparently that has not been open for a long time, yet is one of the handful of places within the community centre where you are able to get a decent glass of wine. The two of us went for the stuffed chicken breast which was completely delicious. They even presented free cheese pastries!

After a few glasses of wine, we decided to hit the Santa Barbara Fortress that was built by the Spaniards to protect against sailing attacks. The castle is a beautiful walk, you are able to get a guide to show you throughout the old cannons and there's an absolutely spectacular view of the bay of Trujillo. There is also a small museum on the inside with a few colonial artifacts and some information on Garifuna culture (which is regarded as the most interesting component from the museum!). We decided to head back for some dinner at Banana Beach after this and also to see if we could catch the sunset, which was completely stunning from the resort's view from the Trujillo bay. We will be heading off to Guanaja the next day as this has been just a weekend beach house rentals, but the next time we're going to definitely come longer!
