For businesses that keep sensitive stock on a temporary basis, portable air conditioners can help to keep them cool as needed. For example, electronics, canned goods and beverages may be kept in storage at a business until a certain contract is complete or a company function has been completed. In a storage room that gets very hot without a cooling system, the goods could be damaged. Using these units can prevent any problems from occurring.

Portable air conditioners come in free standing or rack mounted styles. Rack mounted can be mounted on the wall to increase floor space, but is more expensive. The less expensive freestanding unit moves easier from place to place. Units are available that are powered by battery or with an adapter for 110 volt electric power. The noise level is another consideration.
