Electricity is amazing. You can watch television broadcasts because of electricity, can cook food in a matter of seconds because of electricity, and can talk to people you havent seen in ages thanks to electricity. Without electricity, none of the other services we have would work. No internet, no microwaves, and no television or radios. In many ways, electricity has saved our lives when in comes to dangerous storms. However, electricity is also causing some issues with our earth.

One of the best ways to help the earth is to recycle. Another is to save electricitybut what can you do, as an everyday, average Joe do in order to take care of the planet you live on?

Well, it isnt actually all that hard to save electricity. Here are a few tips and ideas to help you save as much electricity as possible.

First, keep your lights off when you dont need them. If youre at the computer and you have a light on in the background, do you really need that little lamp? Nope! Turn her off. At night, you can unplug all of the appliances that you arent using.

Second, play it by season. In the spring and fall, electricity isnt used quite as much as in the summer and winter. Minimize your electricity use year-round. If it is really hot outside, open a window and stick a fan in it. It will not only pull lots of healthy oxygen into your house, but it will also keep you cooler! If its so hot that you absolutely need your air conditioner on, allow it to circulate throughout the whole house as opposed to keeping just one room cool. Use your fans to circulate the cool air throughout your whole house. This means have them facing TOWARDS the hot rooms. Once its all cool, turn off your air conditioner and enjoy the coolness and your savings!

In the winter, keep everything as draft free as possible (unless you live in a well insulated house. Then take at least one day per week to let it air out. This will replenish the oxygen in your home and keep you and your family healthier.). Use towels under doors, at drafty window sills and any other nook and cranny that you can think of.

Then, there is another option.

You may not have known this, but one way to save electricity is to, literally, save it. There is a small system that is designed strictly for the purpose of saving you money.

You may not know this, but a lot of homes in America and around the world, dont use all of the electricity that you are spending your hard cold cash on. In fact, you lose about a fifth of it.

Yep. That means that you are paying a fifth of your bill for electricity that isnt used by youthat isnt used by anyone. Its like when youre making a pie and make your own crust. Quite a bit of the flour gets all over and a lot of it isnt used!

Luckily, with the system, you are able to store that extra electricity. It also enables you to prevent power surges up to a certain amperage and do other great things for you electrical bill. It makes it easy to save electricity!
