What Career Is Right For You?

I urge you to use the blank sheet of paper here

. You see most people say they will think about it, and then they start making excuses. "Oh I can't do that I have no training in it". "I can't do that, I have already invested ten years in this career"

Instead I urge you to split this into two very different procedures;

1) Figure what career is right for you

2) Figure out how you can achieve it (or rule it out because you can't figure this bit out)

It is better to know the job change you require and not execute it, than to kid yourself on it is something just because you can easily figure out how to do it. Most people make excuses and kid themselves on.

Job change is a big scary thing for most of us. Even the most confident get a little shaky at the knees when contemplating a serious job change as opposed to a sideways shift.

It is expected that we will all have at least four distinct careers in our time, so we better get used to the idea. The time has passed when we could expect to be in a job for life.

It's all about change and adapting to change.

Your personality will play a large part in how comfortable you are about change. Unfortunately 75% of the population feels very uncomfortable about change. If you are one of them then it puts you at a distinct disadvantage.

This is why you have to take the initiative and find a way of coping with the idea of career change.

If you have a strategy for dealing with career change and you take the initiative and lead it, then it will become less distressing. In fact you may learn to like the idea.

To summaries

1.Career change is inevitable

2.Overcome your inertia and natural resistance by developing a strategy

3.Don't wait till you're pushed. Better to jump on your terms.

4.Make sure you are honest with yourself about what you should be doing with your life.
