Based from the given definition of pediatric and physical therapy, we can say that Pediatric Physical Therapy is a special branch of physical therapy that cure or detect illness in infants, children and adolescents that uses a myriad selection of methods of treatment. Children with developmental problems whether congenital and non congenital conditions such as down syndrome, cerebral palsy, bifida and torticollis are only few delays that a pediatric physical therapist treat. They are specialize in diagnosing, treating and managing toddlers with developmental, skeletal, chronic illness, congenital, nueromuscolar or acquired disorders. However, there are some different types of pediatric therapy programs. Physical therapy helps develop the strength and range of motion that the children need to move through their environment easily and effectively.

A pediatric physical therapist provide a vast job satisfaction since they are the one who will cure the injuries, fractures and other ailments, once they have heal the illness on his patients, their patients can now go back to their ordinary lives. One of the jobs of the said profession is to formulate the best treatment, plan for his patients, educating the children to perform physical development and evaluating different stages. Above all, the candidate should have a licensed degree and undergone training related to his profession for him to develop and go with the new technologies. Most of them studied with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree which normally takes three years to achieve after one has completed a bachelors degree.

The job is not that easy as you understand, you should be able to know the character of a child. As pediatric physical therapist, you should be able to communicate or intervene well with the parents and educating them about the current condition of their child and the possible treatment that must do as well as any side effects they may bring along. How do we know that a certain child needs a pediatric physical therapist? Some methods used is by means of observation their natural settings, gathering accurate data from the patient and family history, information coming from the teachers, caregivers, relatives, family members. A review is also needed and must conduct, which involves an assessment of childs breathing, cardiovascular, muscoskeletal, integumentary and newtomuscular systems.
