What To Expect On The Natural Sciences Clep Exam
The questions on the Natural Science CLEP (College Level Examination Program) exam
cover a myriad of topics that are usually covered in one or two college semesters of either freshman or sophomore natural science class. The questions cover both physical and biological science.
The information on the Natural Science CLEP test is information from basic science classes that are part of the general education requirement and not information from the harder, required classes for science majors as the information on the CLEP test is very basic science information. Therefore, the Natural Science CLEP test is not recommended for those who are going to major in science as the information on it is information that any adult who has a liberal arts education should know.
The Natural Science
CLEP test doesnt require you to remember facts and details, but instead, it tests your knowledge of and ability to apply basic, scientific concepts and principals. This CLEP test will also require you to prove your understanding of scientific issues in todays society as well as your comprehension of information pertaining to science.
The main goal of the Natural Science CLEP test is to allow you to prove that you understand completely and comprehend well the information you need in order to obtain credit for the general science requirement. If you pass the Natural Science CLEP test, your college or university can award you up to six semester hours of science credit.
The Natural Science CLEP test has 120 questions on it and youre given 90 minutes to answer all of the questions. Any time you spend reviewing the CLEP tutorials or entering your personal information is not counted towards the 90 minutes youre given to answer all the questions on the exam.
The questions on the Natural Science CLEP exam will come from the following categories: biological sciences and physical sciences (chemistry, physics, geology, and astronomy). In addition, the Natural Science CLEP test also contains some questions that are interdisciplinary or laboratory related in nature and therefore do not fit in any of the categories. Some of the questions are about subjects that overlap with the above listed categories because they drawing on areas such as the philosophy and history and of science, the scientific method, applying science to technology, and how science relates to modern problems of todays society.
Many college students who have to obtain a general sciences course requirement can benefit from the Natural Sciences
CLEP tests. However, this CLEP exam is not meant for students who are majoring in science, such as chemistry or biology majors. If you are considering taking the Natural Sciences CLEP test, first check with your college registrars office or academic counselor for more information.

The College Board can provide you with more information in the subjects covered on the test, recommend study methods, and help you locate a testing center in your area.
