What is G2 Google Phone? And How To Get It for Free

It's been two weeks now I received a Google G2 phone or free. At first I wasn't sure if I would like it but I'm loving it. It's the best phone I have ever used. I found Google G2 to be very sleek and solid build plastic phone with aluminium accents of silver and soft gray. The G2 is one the first Android phones which is running Froyo. It weighs around 6.5 ounces a bit heavier than other average phones but the extra weight isn't much noticeable.

It has TFT capacitive touch screen display with 400x800 resolution and 3.7 inches in size. I found its touchscreen display very responsive. The front side of the phone is mostly taken up by a touchscreen. There is a trackpad below the screen centred near the bottom. There are four touch sensitive buttons for Home, Menu, Back and Search just below the screen and the trackpad. The trackpad has a border which lights up for new notifications. It also has a sensor near the top of the screen which detects the ambient light levels and automatically adjusts the screen brightness according to the surroundings. Overall I am quite impressed with screen quality and its sensitivity.

The google G2 is equipped both with a software and slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a unique Z-hinge design which adds beauty to the phone. The keyboard keys are quite wide and comfortable to use. Also the software on screen keyboard is quite impressive.

It runs Google's Android v2.2 in it. Even though it has 800mhz processor but it runs faster than many other 1ghz processor phones. I would say don't let the 200 less mhz deceive you this is definitely the fastest phone I have ever used. It is equipped with 512 MB of RAM and internal memory of 4GB. Though you can add external memory card to it up to 32GB.

When it comes about making calls then I found it better than any other phones I have used till now. The reception is brilliant I could hear clearly with dropping out even in the elevator. Also the callers told me that they could hear me very clearly even when I spoke to them using a speakerphone and in crowded places. Even though the built in speakers are tinny sounding when playing music but are able to get moderately loud through adjustments. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections are rock solid. Once they are connected you won't have to pair them again and again. It's been two weeks I am using this amazing phone and not once I have experienced connecting it.

The G2 phone has a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash and is capable of HD 720p video recording. The picture quality I experienced through this device is simply amazing. Both indoor and outdoor shots and videos gave the balanced exposure and brightness. Although, the camera software is stock Froyo camera software so can't expect too many options but still it has adjustments for flash, zoom, white balance, focus mode and exposure. I have to say the battery life of Google G2 is pretty impressive and I haven't really taken any battery saving steps yet.
