When Disaster Strikes: Preparing For The Worst

Is there anything more embarrassing than having a projector lamp malfunction or blow

a bulb during a presentation or lecture? Maybe only if there isnt a replacement on hand to remedy the situation. The last thing anyone would want is to have to wrap up a presentation prematurely due to such an unfortunate oversight. In a business it could lead to a sour deal or the loss of clients, in a school setting it could lead to the distraction and lost time that students could have otherwise used to engage with the subject matter. No matter what the situation, it is not an ideal mistake and one that, if not handled correctly, cannot be undone easily.

This is why it is very important to think ahead. With any piece of technical equipment, it can be difficult to know if or when it will malfunction. Some problems can be handled easier than others, but it may take time and money on short notice. It is advisable to ensure that if a projector lamp is essential that replacements machines or parts are on hand. Sometimes, in the case of the bulb, this is very simple and replacement projector bulbs can be purchased ahead of time, to prepare for the inevitable moment when a new one will be needed. Understandably, some parts cannot be replaced so quickly, in which case it is advisable to consider purchasing a secondary, replacement projector lamp for when it may become necessary.

This isnt to say that one should always expect the worse when it comes to their technical equipment, or even that it is any fault of the machine itself. However, as with anything that is truly important, it would be foolish to rely simply on one method of delivery and not account for the unexpected circumstances that may arise.
