You can find many uses of e books. For marketers or customers, they play a vital role in one specific area: conveying information. No doubt that there are other medium to relay info today but many still prefer the good-old way using e book, for some obvious reasons.

For Marketers

1) E books are easy to create. There is software available to carry this out, and if budget is a concern, there is a free solution using Open Office. In marketing, speed counts so being able to deliver information fast added to the advantage.

2) E books are viral. It is easy to pass an e book around. It is not like it requires special equipment to share it; just as attachment in e-mail will do. Plus, it requires no special tools to be able to read it.

3) E books add value. Perhaps a marketer gets his or her video presentation, or interview session transcribed into e book. What would that do to the value of the video or audio interview offered? It is obvious right, and that is why e books are still necessary.

For Customers:

1) E books are easier to churn. Video product is hot right now but not all products are suitable with video format and for that matter, e book fits the bill nicely.

2) They can bring e book everywhere. There are devices available nowadays that allow people to read e books on the go. Even certain mobile phones can display them.

3) They pay less for e books. Compared to the hardbound or paperback version, the price of e book is just a fraction of it, and it is so affordable.

4) They can access it without internet connection. All they need is to download and save the file into a device, and when the time comes, they just open it to read. It is very convenient.

5) They can take time with e books. Like the paper version, customers can finish their reading when and where they like. It is probably inconvenient to listen to video recording of business strategy during picnic, for example. They can do that with e book.
