Why Now is the Right Time to Twitter

Imagine for a minute you're sitting on a sofa with a bunch of some of the most creative, thoughtful and inspiring online marketers you know (not to mention successful), and you'll immediately get a feeling what Twitter is like to use. So, are you on Twitter yet?

It's hard not to know about Twitter.com. You'll find CNN making mention of it, celebrities basking in it, and thousands of other folks (like you and me) playing with it like it's the crazy new toy of the century. But, let's not explain what it's all about. Let's talk about what it allows you to do.

Like we said, Twitter is a bit like being in the living room with a bunch of folks that you admire heaps. You're right there, listening intently as your favorite man or woman waxes lyrical about whichever subject they're currently fascinated with, or whatever they happen to be doing or working on. Now and then you ask a little question, and the ground shakes as you find out something groovy and new.

Before Twitter (B.T) of course, this level of personal communication was barely possible. Email was days late and lost in translation. Phone calls were out of the question. Skype is do-able but you need to know user names and, heck, it's just too much trouble. The world was waiting for Twitter, and it finally arrived on the scene.

And what's great about Twitter is that YOU can partake in the conversations. Well, at least, you can listen in. And boy, if that's not inspirational, then I'll eat my hamster! And we haven't even started talking about role models - Twitter lets you surround yourself with successful folks (of your choice), so that has to rub off in a good way.

So, like we said, are you on Twitter yet? And if you're not, maybe you should be. That sofa is a pretty comfortable place to sit I tell you!
